WSU Department of Applied Sciences Admission Requirements – See Details Below:
Minimum admission requirements (Analytical Chemistry)
National Diploma: Analytical Chemistry (Mainstream or Extended)
A Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification with a minimum of a D-symbol in Mathematics, Physical Science and English (SG or HG) or, E-symbol in Mathematics, Physical Science and English(HG).
A prospective student must have an NSC achievement rating of at least 3 (40 % to 49%) in each of the following subjects; English (as a home language or first additional language level), Mathematics and Physical Science.
Admission Point Score (APS) required: 30
However, applicants with an APS of between 23 and 29 will be invited for standardised assessment tests (SATS) or NBT. It must be noted that use of the APS will apply if tests are written.
Based on the Matric symbols and SATS OR NBT results, students will be placed either into the mainstream or extended programme.
