The Forek Institute of Technology is an Artisan Training and Development private college that was founded by Mr EF Sibiya in 2009, who has a vision of uplifting and upskilling the previously disadvantaged – particularly the youth. The college began its operations at 9 Piet Retief Street in Nelspruit central, which was a small and confined place. In January 2017 the college relocated to Kabokweni Industrial area as we were expanding our scope.
Our first accreditation was with MICT SETA for End User Computing level 3. In 2012 the college was accredited by UMALUSI for N1-N3 Engineering Studies and QTCO for N4-N6 in both Business and Engineering Studies. The college continued expanding to various SETA programmes. In 2017 we further got accreditation to train and trade test Apprenticeships in Electrical, Plumbing and Welding.
